Welcome

Welcome to ECHO. When you visit us at 3 English St. Malanda, conveniently located opposite SPAR, you will be met with a smile whether it is a member of staff or one of the many volunteers who assist in the day to day running of the office.

Established twenty five years ago in Malanda, ECHO provides assistance to the communities of Malanda, Millaa Millaa, Yungaburra and Tarzali,  with limited services also offered to Atherton, Herberton and Ravenshoe.  Our services are delivered through funding by both state and commonwealth governments and dedicated volunteers.

Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP, Formerly HACC) services include Home Maintenance, Social Support and Domestic Assistance.

Our transport services are available to all community members with priority given to CHSP and QLD Community Care (QCC) clients.

We also have a Community Support Person, an Emergency Relief Program, FREE Broadband for Seniors' computer training, a Secretarial Service and Commissioner of Declarations (JP).

Additionally you can see a staff member from QGAP at the ECHO office every Friday.

Our Mission Statement

ECHO exists to support the community’s disadvantaged, frail, aged and younger people to maintain their dignity and independence. The service is provided to residents of the southern Atherton Tablelands district, (previously Eacham Shire) incorporating Millaa Millaa, Tarzali, Malanda and Yungaburra. Non-residents of the target area who meet government eligibility criteria may access these services subject to ECHO’s service funding limits.
